Curriculum

We are currently studying Spiritual Formation, leadership lessons from Jesus in the book of Matthew, Applied Missions, Outdoor Leadership, and much more! We also spend time learning key outdoor skills in our natural lab of the vast Adirondack Park.  For more infomation please visit our CURRICULUM PAGE.

We are also pleased that this semester's guest speaker is Dr. Frank Turek, who is an exceptional Christian apologist. Please visit his website to learn more about how God is using him to equip our generation to give an answer for the hope that we have!

Missional Experience: Ecuadorian Andes!

This semester's cross-cultural experience has the potential to be one of the most rewarding and extreme missions trips LIFT has ever done. We will travel deep into the Andes mountains to minister to the Quichua. We will partner with El Refugio, which is a Christian training center devoted to leading people into a life-changing relationship with Jesus Christ through nature and outdoor adventure. We will also visit some remote villages to share the gospel--some will be reached via driving, but some are only accessible by foot trails.  We will visit some of the highest elevation year-round villages in the world!

We at LIFT are burdened for the poor, oppressed, and overlooked of this world. This trip enables us to use the unique training LIFT provides to minister to some of the most remote communities in the world--we cannot wait to see and experience what our God has planned for us and our Ecuadorian brothers and sisters!

Outdoor Adventures: Snow!

Our Spring semester is a bit of a misnomer; Winter might be a more apt title! It is likely that the ground will be covered in snow when you arrive, and that you won't see the ground at all until the snow melts. This often happens while we are on our mission trip. We love the winter season--at times simply walking to our office can be an adventure! Come prepared for 1+ feet of snow, temperatures down to -20 F, and plenty of snowshoeing, cross country skiing, and winter camping. If you've never built and slept in a quincee (similar to an igloo), then you should definitely bring your camera!
